The Swartberg Pass, South Africa
Brought to you through the magic of Photoshop, a roughly 330 degree view
Click to embiggen, 56k Beware, the large (half size) image is 4MB - the original JPG was 18319x3856 http://i488.photobucket.com/albums/r...berg_thumb.jpg Image taken at S33.32887 E22.04301 Would have been a riot on the KTM, but was quite entertaining in a 1.4l Avis rental Polo... |

Wow,bit dead in here on a Sunday evening...;)
Found this guy at Chapman's Peak, he seemed quite interested in us as in lots of the photos he's looking straight at the lens http://i488.photobucket.com/albums/r...472_flight.jpg |
Re: The Swartberg Pass, South Africa
Awesome... I love stuff like this.
Not quite as extreme but we hired a Yaris in Rhodes and wet driving in the north of the island the roads were more perfect that you could imagine. Then we went driving on roads that didn't exist on the map for a few miles before shutting ourselves and Turing around. |
Re: The Swartberg Pass, South Africa
I have a couple more, not as extreme as this one but quite interesting to see the wide view...
Will fire up PS over the next few days and get them up... |

I agree about that road on the KTM...wouldn't be too fast mind with the cliffs.:-D |
Re: The Swartberg Pass, South Africa
We came from Prince Albert - didn't get chance to do Meiringspoort as we were on our way to St Francis to see some friends
Dunno about the cliffs, they were similar to the ones we had in the Atlas and we did end up playing a bit there...;) |

Re: The Swartberg Pass, South Africa
The pic below is of my trip to Cape Town earlier this year. The road in the picture is essentially miles and miles of twisting coast road, punctuated by the odd beachfront town. Having not taken the bike test at the time and not being able to blag a ride on the hire shops cruisers we asked what else he had to hire, at which point he pointed to 3 AC Cobra replicas out the front of the shop. Turned out it was under £50 a day hire! Turned a day planned relaxing on the beach into one of the best days out ever.
The Twelve Aspostles are pretty spectacular too by the way. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...4_983664_n.jpg |
