GSXR shock fitted but bike sits 60mm lower?
HELP!
I've just spent the afternoon fitting a GSXR 600 K6 Shock to my Curvey (99 year) When I put the bike back on the ground it now sits very low at the back!?!??! approx 60mm Is it a case of adjusting the preload on the spring to get it back to normal height or is there something I'm missing here?! Cheers Ross |
Re: HELP! GSXR Shock Fitted but bike sits 60mm lower ????
sv shock 337mm long
gsxr k6 600 320mm long and with the linkage ratio that would drop the back double the length diff of the two shocks or even more in other words you got the wrong shock also the spring rate is only a tiny bit harder than stock |

I've seen that some people have been fitting this shock to curveys and didnt seem to have a problem....are they midgets?!??!?!?!

Re: HELP! GSXR Shock Fitted but bike sits 60mm lower ????
going by that chart and the web, they must be midget's plus that will make the bike handle like a cruiser (sh*te)

Re: HELP! GSXR Shock Fitted but bike sits 60mm lower ????
Ive read tons of this shock fitting stuff on svrider.com and theyre suggestions for gsxr 600 shocks were to fit longer dog bones to help cure the problem.
Ive just fitted a 750 srad shock to my curvy, which makes it sit a tad taller, trouble is the bigger spring rubs on the swingarm at full extension, so theres a pitfall with that shock too. |

depends on your weight whats best for you, the mega thread seems to cover most shocks for size etc.
