Avon Storm, new tread depth?
 

any one know the tread depth of a new storm rear tire 160 section ? i need to measure mine to see if im eligible for a replacement tyre

along those lines, the first thing I noticed when I had the storms fitted was how hooge the tread depth is!

Which is ironic seeing as the viper sport has the least of any tyre I've used! C

no, just a gaping hole in it from a screw, its right on the edge of the tread, i plugged it yesterday but dont want to risk it as i do a fair few miles a week.

avon will replace the tyre if the tread is less than 1mm worn down, i have had the tire 3 weeks and think i have done about 1k. fingers crossed

If you've done 1k miles, as a betting man I would say you've unfortunately used over 1mm.

to my knowledge and my local fitter its an average of around 1mm or less and it'll be changed. you may need to buy the tire then you get a retrospecitve refund from Avon.

1k on a avon may just be on the limit
