Time to think rear shock change
 

I know this has been done to death, and I've been searching for clear answers for the last three hours, but as far as I can see a K3/4 GSXR1000 shock would be right for me - 14.5 stone without gear on - Does this sound right? The other one I think may work is a ZX10r one but again, no clear answers.
I wish I could afford the Penske one Berlin has for sale but I'll have to wait for the Lottery to bless me for that ;)

ZX10R from approx 05 will work. GSXR1000 ones all too short to be any use at all.

i got a 54 pointy which shock would be good for me i want to pick the rear up a bit as well im 9 stone in normal get up.

I used the table here for a guide http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...o+table&page=4 and fitted a 04/05 zx10 shock only 1mm longer and stiffer than the stock shock and it seems to work for me i'm about 15st fully kitted

Your best bet if you want the penske will be to buy a few scratch cards. The odds on the lottery are a bit silly. Or some other form of gambling, stick an accumulator on the weeks football or something

Had a look the other day on flea bay and the ZX10 shocks all seem to be over priced atm cheapest was £100 + p&p.

It also depends upon how much work you fancy doing to get the shock to fit as cutting the tray insitu is a ball ache.
If you fancy going down the ZX10 route PM'd me and I'll ping you a pic of the tray cut. I'm just pondering how to support and position the battery, a battery tray looks the best and cleanest route

I replaced it with a LiFePo Li-ion battery. They are so small you can leave the fusebox and undertray in it's original position (or use one or two washers) and still have plenty room for the shock reservoir. Furthermore it's 2kg lighter (and pretty high up) and in practice I haven't found it to work any different than the normal one.
