Chain and sprockets for fast road and track?
Ive been riding for just over a year now and have an sv650 sport sk8. I have done a few track days and am thinking about upgrading my chain and sprocket set. Planing to do loads of track days in the new year just wanted some advice on the best set to get for that type of riding.

As Ned no point until its needed.
But a racing chain is not suited to prolonged road use as there is no washers like in a O ring and X ring chain. Again everyone has preference, mine DID as thats whats on the bike atm. |

Unless you want to change the gearing ? IMHO if you havent already, you'd be better off looking at some suspension work ( front forks maybe a rear shock ) that will give you bigger rewards than bolting a set of shiney bling sprockets onto your bike. |
Re: Chain and sprockets for fast road and track?
520 conversion with heavy Duty chain (not X or O ring) one tooth off the front is my preference for most tracks but others prefer 2 off the back. If your using heavy duty chain on the road you need to keep care of it but I have used them in the past on the road.
Heavy duty chains are cheaper than x / o ring chain Iris do a good gold one. Both 520 and using standard chain will give you a little more horsepower to the rear wheel due to less rolling resistance, less weight and more direct connection due to having no o / x rollers. B+C do a renthal superlight 520 14 tooth front sprocket for the SV but its not listed in their SV bits just ring them and ask (I think its a GSXR item) |

You tried running a HD/ Race chain on the road, I thought they siezied up with road crap? Renthal do a ultra light 14T for the 520, and I 525's I'm not to sure. Barwel runs a ultralight so should be able to clarify |
