Finally it happened ~ crashed!

During my last ride out of the season I was told by my more experienced rider buddies that motorbike riders are divided into two groups: those who had an accident and those who will have an accident. Turned out that I was the only one in the group without a proper accident!
Well, I just moved to the 1st group this Friday~~
I was going down North Circular in London and some ****ty Mini Cooper came out of a petrol station right in front of me. Fortunatelly I wasn't going fast (as I just came out of a junction) and I managed to avoid it but having done so I hit a little blue sign on the road which was held in palce by sand bags... so my bike decided to try a frontflip sending me and my girlfriend flying on the road. I ladned in front of the car which cut me off but it managed to stop just before running over me.
Of course it was a woman driver... with the amount of complaining I was doing about female lack of driving skills it was only a matter of time before one of them decided to take me out for my insoults -_-#
The woman was clueless and had no idea what happened and we fortunatelly were okay and just a little bruised, but my lovely sv stopped on the hard shoulder dividing the traffic and wasn't looking too well.
On Monday Spannerman pronounced my beloved bike dead (beyond economical repair).
I would like everyone to take a moment of silence in memory of my little black SV which now went to motorbike heaven.

bad news but you can't blame women drivers mate-i see my fair share of really bad drivers and the majority are guys-try looking at your end of things- hazard perception, did you move over to minimise the risk prior to her pulling out etc.
bikes can be replaced .

Sadly I'm still in the second group, and scared.

To be honest the silliest things I have seen on the road were done by women. True that men tend to take unnecessary risks but women just do random things showing their lack of driving skills. I was riding on the most inner lane so furthest one from the petrol station exit, but there were some roadwork on the most outer one so the woman went straigth for my lane and I had no room for manouvering...

I've got a Gladius as my replacement from the insurer and even tho it's a new bike it rides like a mixture of a lawnmower and a scooter...

Okay, you're definitely entitled to your opinion. But I'm willing to challenge the notion that "women do the silliest things". I'll agree to the fact that they do a lot of them, and that is partly to the average hand-eye coordination skill of women versus men. But that only means that on average, they make the MOST mistakes, not the BIGGEST mistakes.

I'm convinced that, while a driver does not posses the physical skills to do certain things, they are also generally aware of their situation and will not engage in very risky maneuvers like, say, overtaking when there isn't enough space/time to do so. While someone with the skills to do a lot of things risks growing over confident and will try the riskiest things, with the stiffest penalties for failing..

It's all about risk perception. And the gender does not affect that, it only affects the coordination skills...
