Where is the pair system?

I have scorpian cans on my Sv without the baffles in. It never pops, bangs or cracles on the overrun :(.
I thought the pair system may have been blanked off. Would the blanking plate be located on the front cylinder head behind the radiator? If so then it hasn't been blocked off.
Is their anything else that would stop it popping? I miss it!!

Re: Where is the pair system

Depends on where/how it's been disabled.
The PAIR system connects into the exhaust by way of plastic elbows on the cylinder head covers, if the system has been entirely removed then there will be two rectangular plates, one on each cylinder head cover, each has two bolts/screws.
The other common way of disabling the system is to block its air intake, typically this is done at the airbox end. On the side of the airbox is a valve into which two wires pass to operate it, (it's connected to the FI system), , the valve has three connections - one to the airbox, and one to each cylinder head cover, each are black rubber hoses about 12mm internal diameter.

Thanks SS!
I'll check next time I'm working on it. What is the advantage of disabling it when fitting aftermarket cans, and will I harm the bike reactivating it?

The only thing disabling it does is stop it popping, It's an emmisions measure with no performance penalty - I can't see why you'd remove/disable it.

The system is very simple, it allows oxygen rich air from the airbox into the very top of the exhaust system, this will allow any unburnt fuel in the spent gas to burn, which is the popping you hear.

Removing it all completely also removes a lump of useless/unsightly bits and makes access to the plugs easier.

Call me a chav, but I want it functional so the exhausts pop and bang on the overrun

For the amount of times it's in the way I'd leave it there - how often do you lift the airbox off?
As for unsightly can you even see it when the bike is assembled?
