sv 650 & sv1000 lower fairings same?
 

Hello, I just got an sk6 sv650, I bought some lower fairings seconds hand but are the wrong colour. I see they say sv1000 on the inside, are they the same and will it fit ok to the 650? holding them up against the bike it seems ok, but as they are marked specifically 'sv1000', im now wondering, before I have them painted...

I couldnt find a search feature for the forum to see if anyone has asked this before.... sorry.

anyone have experience with this?

ahhh craps! I'm gonna have a bash before painting then to make sure.... provisionally... does anyone want a set of lower fairings for an sv1000?

I bought them on ebay, advertised as 650 fairings. the guy has kindly offered a refund plus post costs so I'm gonna send them back. No doubt they will be back on ebay soon, hopefully under 'sv1000 fairings'. They cost me around £155, with £12 of that being postage to remote northern ireland.

The difference I noticed was that the lower mount did not reach. eg. the bolt at the gear lever on the bike, the fairing of the sv1000 came about 6 inches short of it. Im sure someone with a bit of skill in metal work could construct a sensible bracket and the thing would go on, but as they are not my colour it wouldn't be worth it for me.

Got a new 650 lower fairing complete kit. For anyone wanting answers, the sv1000 is infact different than the 650 and here is what the genuine bolt kit looks like. For S650 SK3 - SK7. It comes with instructions and the part number is 990D0-17G20. I do not know if the paint colour is denoted in the part number but I dont think it is.
