Summer holiday outside of Europe?

Next year Foxy and I are taking the kids (4 of them) on holiday for the first two weeks of the Summer Holidays.

Question is, where to go?

With the kids it obviously has to be children friendly. Somewhere where they are not going to get bored. But at the same time we would very much like to be able to lose the kids for a day so we could go out and do something for just us. So looking for somewhere which has a kids club or something like that where the kids can be 'off loaded' for the day.

Anyone got any suggestions? A couple have mentioned Florida on my Facebook, but does anyone else have experience of anywhere else?

No suggestions as to where to go, but I'd avoid Tunisia. We went there a few years ago and three of us got very ill, plus there's sod all for the kids.

I can recommend Kenya,
Safari cant be beaten as a family experiance
Its a former Birtish Coloney so you've got the bonus that they're used to the english and as such you've got soem major holiday companys offering stays with kids clubs etc.

I'd avoid Portugal as well.

France may well be a good option. Plenty of family friendly campsites about, plenty of options for location, good food and easy to get to. The only problem is that it's full of the French ;)

Thanks for some of the suggestions as to where not to go and thanks for the suggestions as to where to go also. Just a point to note, was looking for somewhere OUTSIDE of Europe. :)

Egypt is suppose to be good. Dunno for kids though but i'd have thought anyway outside the EU would be a good shout what with the crappy rates.

Can't beat florida for a family holiday. Down side is it seems to be getting very expensive to go, but if you can, it's a must for the whole family.
