carb jetting question

hi all,

i have a few questions regarding carb set up and jetting,

-what main jets should i run with an open can (beowulf)
-what possition should i run the needles at (i.e 3rd clip from pointy end)
-what possition should the air screws be set from fully wound in?
-what are the sv,s standered jets and are they both the same? (my rear one is 37.5 but havnt checked the front)

The reason i ask is that after running probloms i re fitted my stock can and the bike is running better.
Pulling the choke on with the beowulf can had no effect other than the engine revved.
Doing the same with the stock can stalls engine as expected, so i guess im running lean.
Re fitting the stock can gave better running.

Also i checked the TPS for resistance as per haynes manual and its 0.35 ohms out of spec. Problom or not?

Thanks in advance you lot!!

Re: carb jetting question

With an open can the standard jets shouldn't make that much of an effect, I'm running a full titanium Arkra system with standard jets with no probs.

I thought only pointies had TPS, or am I thinking of the wrong thing?

Now then chris

I've looked over chris's bike, it does have a tps fitted ... Now on the ccm 644 lump the tps is quite critical
to ensure smooth throttle response across the range, my question to chris was how critical is it on the sv ?

Is 0.32 ohms out a problem/worth taking the time to adjust it ?

I'm a little surprised there isn't a base setting to up jet to when fitting a race can?

You say you have a full akro sys on, have you had it dyno'd to see how it's fuelling?

His bike is running lean IMO, with a rough base setting he can then get it to the dyno for fine tuning
