Hi, New SV650S Owner

Hi Guys, I recently acquired an SV650 which is a bit on the rough side. It needs a bloody good clean, degrease and a bit of TLC in places but other than that It's a good runner with tax and test. It was restricted but thanks to a guide on here I sorted that today. Plans are to continue cleaning her up then see where we go from there! Here's a few pics.

I'll get some pics of the full bike tuesday hopefully.

Quick question regarding the de-restriction:

I removed the tank/airbox/lifted carbs and removed 2 'alpha' restriction washers from the inlets. Are there any other restrictions I should be aware of?

Thanks.

just the 2 washers thats it. stick them on ebay or the for sale section, even if its just for £10, cheap to post.

I think thats the only thing for the restriction on the Carb'ed bikes

New bikes are normally done via the ECU

Thanks Guys. Took it for a spin and she seems pretty swift so it certainly feels full power.

What are common mods to these bikes?

Re: Hi, New SV650S Owner

- Braided lines
- Double bubble screen (a must tbh)
- Motosliders or R&G
- Exhaust
- Fender extender
- Rear hugger
- suspension changes

The suspension one is done to death have a search, but they're front end uprating (better springs through to cartridge conversions), front end swaps (to gsxr, but is coming pricey as parts are becoming scarce) , rear shock swaps or aftermarkets (from Ohlins, Penske etc..)

That was manky. Did the previous owner live on a beach?

Doesn't look like there's any corrosion though so someone must have been looking after it at some point.

It does look well kept.
Buy a tin of ACF50 you'll never regret that £13 every year

Tam can you think of anything I've missed for common mods
