Good UK based WordPress site hosting company?
 

Can anyone recommend a good UK based host for a Wordpress based website? I'm giving a friend a few pointers for their new site and all the stuff we use at work is .ASP based.

Godaddy do it I think. Not a recommendation. I am waiting for them to resolve my PHP problem on a new Linux hosting I have with them. 24 Hours and counting with the site still down.

I've used Evohosting for about 5 years.

Usually a discount code posted on their site as well, currently it's 20% off your order (code: TWENTY) when you join but that ends at midnight tonight.

Get one from Amazon, free until November :)

I am running with nearlyfreespeech.net who provide linux based pay as you go services, costs me less than US$20 every few years, depending on traffic I could get more or less time out of the funds. I setup my own DNS/MX records on their site to conjunction with a name.com domain registration ($US20 / 2 years also for .com with google services included)

It provides me with an internet linux server and needs a tech savvy user really. I have all the usuals such as ssh, php/mysql etc etc...worth a look as it's cheap and will run most things such as wordpress, but you'd need to upload all the files and set it up remotely including the DB.

Probably easier options out there though so depends on what you really want

Just cancelled my new godaddy hosting as I was still waiting for them to sort out not being able to run php files since monday. Gone with Pixel Internet. UK and wordpress on there.
