SOS Day 2011 - Help our crews
 

Just in case you arent aware today is the RNLI's SOS fundraising day!

Our volunteer crews and lifeguards put their own lives on the line to save others, providing a 24/7 search and rescue service around the UK and ROI, as well as safeguarding beaches.

These volunteers come from all walks of life, doing this vital lifesaving work on top of their day jobs. With only 1 in 10 of our new crew members having a professional maritime occupation, it's essential to give them the finest training, the safest boats and the best lifesaving equipment.

By having fun on SOS day you will be supporting our crews' bravery – and everything you raise will help pay for their training, lifeboats and lifesaving kit.

Its worthy cause that needs much support to carry on their good work in these turbulent times
