Anyone got an aprilia tuono?

Any thoughts ladies and gents. I may need a new massive twin very soon and the tuono looks like it could be a hoot.

Not meaning to intrude, but please don't PM. I'd be very interested to read about it.

I suppose i really wanna know what they are like as toys?
Did it fall to bits?
Are they made of cheesium or better built than suzukis?
Is the motor a nutter?

Its basically Cos there are a few new ones left for not a lot of cash and i've decided i like 100 hp bikes but prefer the way a twin boots it out.

It is without the shadow of a doubt the best bike I have ever had, the bike wasnt just a toy I used it all the time, all weathers, stick touring rubber on it it wont eat rubber...

It was well built, very infact but did have a couple of recalls, (new clocks, new front brake hoses) it was fantastic.. I washed it every time I rode it and it didnt corrode.

As standard the motor is mad, stick cored cans and have it swapped to map two its friggin mental... stick a 15th tooth front sprocket on it and its more managable through town and u will be going everywhere on the back wheel.

But it does have a sensible side too, sub 5k rpm its pefectly polite and managable and I even used mine in the frost and snow.

I departed from mine after I slung it down the road when I hit some gravel on a corner, as I was getting married later that year I sold it out the workshop after the insurance repaired it.

I really miss mine, I had some of the best biking days ever on it and still desperatly want another..

Go test ride one though as it may not be your thing, there are a couple on ebay brand new for £6800 which is v good price, I paid £6500 for mine brand new in 08 but the dealers had more scope to discount then

Wish u all the best and anything else you want to know, let me know

Thats a fairly solid write up there. I like the bonkers nature of V-twins and i've loved the upright bikes i've owned. I'm not a huge fan of sportsbikes but like thumpy motors.

I've seen them new for £6700, which seems like a lot of bike for the money.

I won't use it in winter or wash it much so it needs to be fairly tough.
Think i'll see if i can find one local and have a sit.
