I was wondering this sort of. I was wondering if a Sv650 pc111 would fit? At least its a Suzuki fitment. I'd imagine they would have manufacturer specific connections Dave.

from my dealings with them on a xt660 and mt-03 the unit is the same but the detachable loom and connectors are diff so you should be able to use the unit on most bikes with the correct loom dont take this as gospel though

the only thing that may differ is if they are programmed for 1/2/3 or 4 cylinders

I know you can use older sv1k powercommanders with newer models and the only thing that changed was the default map

no Dave, they usually come with specific loom connectors built in and vary in spec. Not worth the hassle, get the right one to start with.

Because you can make your own maps and change the settings as and when you want to yourself...?

You cant make accurate maps or maps worth having unless you are running a live AFR system/self mapper or have access to a dyno. Every bike will fuel different and require a totally different map to another even if they are identical. Injector flow rates, engine tolerances etc all affect the map required.

IMHO its not worth messing with unless your changing things on the bike that would affect the mapping.

Direct to ECU maps work fine for 99% of bikes out there.
