Kentish Newbie!
Like all forums I guess it is the right thing to say hello to existing members... so hello!
I have just bought a 55 plated SV650S in red with a little over 8k on the clock and after riding around on a 21 year Honda for a year this new toy is a bit of a beast! She was an insurance Cat "D" write off but the damage was minimal so with a bit of work she will come up to spec nicely.... a few scuffs to the nearside fairing and mirror was the reason for write off! A local panel and paint company is going to do some respraying for me at a pretty good price. Other than that she is clean and tidy with full main dealer service history. She went through the MOT on Saturday with no problems so is now taxed and insured and I have been out trying to get used to modern handling. I have found the clip-ons a bit too low but think that some of the aches in my elbows and wrist may be more to do with me being a bit more tense as she handles completely differently to what I have been used to. Now off to have a nose around and start learning about this new toy of mine. All the best, Steve |

Re: Kentish Newbie!
the rules
1/ when speaking to someone from the ta north always offer alcohol before initiating conversation 2/ acceptance of said alcohol does not confirm permission to talk (we will let you know) 3/ undertsand the basics of everyone from ta north is better than you (inc tim wilky a stretch i know but rules is rules) 4/ always seek permission to come up from daw'n sauth (you will be met at the boarder and escorted from and back too) 5/ do not freak out if allowed op north becuase we have things called corners, after some time and training you will learn to enjoy these, also more training will be given in the following subjects, what do do on a empty road, how to handle a bike going over 30mph, differance betwen speed cameras and lampposts (we dont have speed cameras every 5 feet), what road curtisy is and how to aply, and finally proper english (like da teachers speak innit) 6/ anyone with a irish accent is bigger harder and can drink more than you so worship them as your deity 7/ any questions you have we dont care but may answer if bored ,if stuck refer to rule 3 8/ all heathens from the frog land (named for the fact your that far south you may as well be french) must find a neash to make themselves useful. eg Rictus = charge free spanner monkey, grunty giggles = org chef, spiderman = my b1tch, supervox = manuel labour/ goffer, tsm = tbh we still trying to find a use for ricardo but he is funny after half a shandy or babysham (cos thats what you weirdos drink) and bear = for info on everything sexually depraved i hope you find these rules easy to follow and in case (most likely) you cant read tim will be along in a bit to change them into pretty pictures for your simple southern mind to understand dave  |
Re: Kentish Newbie!
Well that's a warm welcome int it?
I suppose the Lancastrian blood that runs deep within my veins and the fact that my wife is Cumbrian may go somewhere to ease the chastisement but I shall always remain a Man of Kent! |
Re: Kentish Newbie!
Take no notice of the ill educated savages from the grim north. They are just jealous cos they got have no White Cliffs,no decent castles, and, most important, they never get to sh&g the luvly French girls.
