Speedo problem K9.
Speedo has started to give false readings on my k9, mostly reads 186mph (i wish) when riding and even when bike is standing still.
Any ideas how to fix ? thought the prob may be the sensor on the front wheel but as its still indicating a speed when standing still, i am not so sure. the thing that bothers me is that the odometer now windicates a higher milage than the bike has travelled. Many thanks in advance. Ian |

Quote:
1) Unplug the speedo sensor from the dash. Inspect plug for bad crimps, loose wires, corrosion etc. Inspect cable down to sensor for damage. 2) Clean contacts in the plug 3) Plug it back in 4) Start up bike. Wiggle the cable behind the dash and check what the speedo does. 5) Wiggle the cable immediately above the sensor and check what the speedo does. Hopefully steps 1-3 will cure the problem. If not, steps 4 and 5 test the most likely places for a cracked wire. |

Re: Speedo problem K9.
You sure it's not reading in KPH?
Press 'Sel' until you reach the ODO mileage screen. Hold down the 'Adj' button for a few seconds. Voila... back to MPH! Done. Chin |
