Gearbox buying advice for K3 needed
 

My K3 was registered in the uk november 03. I have been told that only k3 and older gearboxes would fit it, is this right coz there a few newer ones!

Theres a few on ebay on the following link, some buying advice would be appreciated!
There are some on it that say would suit 03,04,05 etc that can't be right can it?

i think some parts will fit others wont like i think its the selector barrel that dosn't fit but not 100%

99-03 are same. 04 and up are different.
Difference is in drive shaft only. 04 and newer shaft is little longer and uses extra washer and o-ring on end. All other parts are same.

I thought so, so buying anything 04 upwards aint gonna work eh?

thanks for the advice again zadar! - im going round in circles trying to get the right parts. What you guys think about the ebay ones?
Will it be ok to use the barrel & forks i still have?

This page shows the forks tbh there's hardly a scratch on em!

Ive been rallying round trying to get hold of a good part at a good price and a few have asked for the driveshaft length for a k3 just in case they send the wrong one. Does anyone know what the size is? - i wont be back up to the garage where the bike is until the weekend to check myself.

Zadar these are the measurements on mine..... i went up tonight to check (changed the spark plugs and the air filter on the cage whilst i was up there!)

Driveshaft (the shaft that has the selector drum, 2 selector forks) the shaft the connects to the chain that drives the back wheel
200mm

Transmission (the takes the power from the crank through the clutch)
215mm

These differ from yours!

Driveshafts is same on all, 200mm.
Countershaft 99-03 is 215.8mm and 04-up is 217.5mm.
Little under 2mm difference.

ta zadar, sorted for specs for some calls tomorrow - 2mm diff! - wtf, why did they bother changing it eh?
