HPI with VIN only?

Hi all,

Does anyoone know if you can get a HPI check with just the VIN number. I'm looking to buy an off-road bike which has spent most of its days off road.

There is no V5 available to look at and no reg.

Any ideas?

I dont know about a hpi check as such but you could have the VIN checked with the police before you bought it.
Never done it myself so forgive me if this is inacurate, its friend of a friend advice.

Reading the forums the police wont do it.

I've tried Kawasaki and DVLA no luck there.

If you have a friend who is a copper they can probably do it for you.

I rang the police about this once.

Apparently preventing the sale of stolen vehicles is not their problem.

Been told a dealer can do this....anyone know a friendly dealer?

If the bike has been registered for the road then yes I can do this for you. If it has never been road reg then I cant. PM me the info.
