Wanted: SV650 any model!

As above am on the lookout for an SV650 looking to spend £1000 or less, must have MOT but not so concerned about tax, if restricted thats a bonus. also whats the minimum sort of height you need to be to ride em, as i'm 5ft 10 and when i got on a SV650 at the MCN bike show it seemed like i was very stretched, maybe i am just being a bit gay, lol.

It depends more on how short your legs are.

I think at 5'10 you should be fine on a standard height SV. Most bikes are designed for people between 5'7 and 6'0 (ie. average height) I'm just an inch taller than you and the SV is fine for me.

Ok thanks for all the input, my leg length is fine on any bike its just the distance to the bars, maybe its just i'm not used to the riding postion on the SV only been riding for 4 days you see.

so is my budget reasonable for a good SV? i can afford more but i am doing the mongol rally in july and need some emergency funds for that.

It's hard to tell how the bike will feel until you actually take it for a spin. Try and get a test ride on an SV and then see if the bars feel too far away. Although the SV isn't a full on sports bike, the seating position is more forward than some bikes so the handlebars feel more comfortable when you're actually riding.

About 500 miles from you at the other end of the country, in Devon/Oxford
