tank: popping dink... by freezing

i'm thinking of emptying the tank, filling it up with water then sticking it in the freezer overnight for it to expand and pop out the dink (3 -3 cm)

just concerned that it might tear, u know make a hole in the tank... anyone else tried this and what u think??

thanks in advance

might work but might pop the cap off or bend/contort the lock mechanism on the filler cap.

Double skinned tank - so dont think it will work.

I have a dent in the tank of my Z750 that I am thinking of trying the heat with a hairdrier then spray with an can of compressed air to cool quickly to pop it out.

never thought of that, pretty gd idea. might try that first to see if it works before maybe freezing. risk free that way

How does the water/ice know which bit to push out?

I'd expect a seam to split.

It will start with the path of least resistance.

you probably do(/ that's what you're planning), but you know if you turn the can of compressed air upside down it comes out burningly cold?

How much pressure do you think is in those cans lol.

Maybe CO2, not air.
