ZX636 Rear shock on Curvy - adjustment?
the zx636 shock i fitted was way too hard, so i adjusted both the adjustable bits on the shock towards the S(soft) , this made it loads more comfortable and probably a bit on the soft side now so will need adjusting again a little. thing is this-- i aint got a bloody clue what im adjusting, theres one adjuster screw at the bottom of the shock by the linkage and at the top by the reservoir there is another screw, bottom one has h-s and the word TEN under it? i know i should probably only of moved it one or two clicks but it was so hard, i knew it would need more.

Re: Rear shock adjustment
the screw at the top is rebound, the one at the bottom is compression.
make sure you've set up static sag first, and tyre pressures are correct preferably before you start playing with anything else. record where you are currently (screw one adjuster in as far as it'll go counting either clicks or rotations and then return it, do the same for the other as well). this will at least mean you can return to the current settings if you have to. Hard/harsh, soft/plush(wollowy) are terms people often confuse, and are adjusted in different ways, so it's important you understand the difference, whilst generally suspension can be setup "better" by fiddling, only a good understanding of what the problem "you" are experiencing is, can you yourself correct it. unfortunately, you can't use factory settings as the shock you have was designed for a different bike, however I dare say others have done the same change and may have general settings to help you out :smt102 Cheers Mark. |
