High level to low level exhaust?
I'm thinking of buying this 1999 curvy:

Re: Moving an Exhaust?
cant see the pic, but i would imagine if its a high level pipe, you would need a different link pipe

Re: Moving an Exhaust?
I've editted the first post now so hopefully you can see the photo.
Yeah, can you buy a specific link pipe for the SV though? Surely if the pitch of the link pipe wasn't perfect, or it was mounted to far fowards or back on the header than the pipe wouldn't fit the hanger? If not, I suppose buying an original exhaust system is the only way to go right? |
Re: Moving an Exhaust?
in fairness, looking at it, i dont see why you couldnt just move the mounting point from where its attatched where the footpegs should go, to further up almost underneath the pillion seat,

Re: High level to low level exhaust?
sell your hi level link pipe(about 25-30 quid), buy a normal level link pipe(30 quid) , fit pillion feet pegs -job done

Re: High level to low level exhaust?
Aparently you can just buy spacers for the hangers with the pillion footrests so they sit on the outside of the exhaust. I'll probably just do that and get some heat protection over the exhaust (which along with the hanger can double up as crash protection) :)

Re: High level to low level exhaust?
Not done it myself, but there are quite a few people on here with high level cans and rear pegs, most pop a small spacer on to make it work. Easy enough, cant imagine its the hardest job in the world!
