Yet Another insurance rant!

I'm with the very nice people at Admiral Van for the Race transport. (the Iveco Hilton. a 4 star van but no retaurant or swimming pool)

Last year my insurance was £256 fully comp.

So I phoned them a week ago for a new quite which was near enough £500!

I asked if that was the best They could do and it magically but unimpressively dropped to £460

Basically doubled. Si I asked for the justification which was met by ar$e scratching and waffling.

OK, No matter, I asked them not to renew it.

I then compared some Meercats (diver meercat and doctor meercat Impressive! )

...and got it down to £362.

Then i get a letter through the post today saying that the nice folks at Admiral Van WOULD be renewing my policy. Now I'm sure I'd asked them not to..

But the best bit is the renewal was now £814!!

So I got on the phone, relaxed and calm and asked why 1) it was being renewed when I'd asked for it to be cancelled nad 2) what the hell was going on with the price.

"Oh, we moved you to a different insurer"

Yes, yes you did, the most expensive one you could find!

So I asked for a new quote and it magically dropped to £450 again!

Amazing what you can do with three pushes of an insurance company button.

So Admiral van, you sharp practice, conning Mothers, you can take a flying leap.

So a quick question. Does anyone know where I can get temprorary one month Van insurance as i want to move the policy date back a month to get it away from other household bills before I sign in Blood with Swinton commercial?

Oh, and the rates on all insurance have gone up due to the number of accidents in the winter and especially due to personal injury claims.

STOP CLAIMING COMPENSATION! :)

What she said.

It took a few moths for one of the companies to stop calling/texting/mailig me willing to fight for the compensation I was entitled to due to injury and damage to my kit (over £3000 I was told).

The funny thing was, my accident happend in a car park and I wasn't on the bike at the time, which I kept telling them every time they've called.

I keep getting those calls, I dont even know what accident they are reffering to (have been in 1 or 2 as a passenger last few years) and they cant give me any details, I tell em to do one and they call me back a week later with the same drivel.

I've had several calls lately regarding my minor tap in the car back in 2008, telling me I can only claim for my injuries within three years so I'd better hurry up.

"I wasn't injured."
Did you seek medical advice on that?
"No."
Then you could be injured.
"I'm not. Where did you get all this information?"
From your insurers. So you don't want to claim for this accident?
"I can't, it would seem 'my insurer' neglected to tell you I was at fault."
Ah. Er. (longish pause) Yes, ummm, if you were at fault then it wouldn't be possible for you to claim compensation.
"No kidding!"

I was with Admiral van last year for £450 fully comp and my renewal for this was £1230, I kid you not (something like that cant quite remember the figures exactly) found a cheaper quote with Swinton cancelled with Admiral and then a few weeks later i get my policy docs through from Admiral :rolleyes:. They are morons!

The ambulance chasers are a pain in the butt as well, someone pranged our car back in october at about 10mph not much damaged caused, dented wing, broken bumper and a scuffed wheel and the amount of phonecalls i've had offering to get me compensation for my inuries even though I have told them over and over there werent any injuries. Couple of weeks ago they were phoning me every couple of days until I snapped and started ranting down the phone at them until they hung up on me! lol. Then they phoned back a few days later again :smt101

Berlin there is a specfic insurance you can get just for racing for vans, its very limted as in the insurance onl covers you for going to track and bike realted trips but it was cheaper...I can't remeber the details but I'm sure someone on motoforum would know.

My car was wrote off a few years ago, I got these phone calls a lot from those people, I told them first time that I had laywer to leave me alone. They just kept calling, I eventually got so fed up of it I told them that if they didn't stop calling I would report them for harrasment, they didn't call back again.

I paid £260 FC last year on my transit connect, renewed in December just gone, £480 I think it was, cheapest I could find as well.
No accidents or claims or anything, gits :(

Berlin, try quoteline direct, they are pretty good for out of the ordinary requests like what you want.
