Does anyone know what Hyosung 125s are like?
 

Someone I know has bought one of these bikes;

A Hyosung GT125 what are they like? Oh how easy is it to get a replacment key, does it require a new lock set if the key is lost?

I did suggest a cg125, or ybr 125 but you know how it goes...

actually I've had a go on the 250 and 650 versions, apart from the quality issues(which are much better than the first lot they brought to market), they aren't that bad and the 250 would make a nice commuter bike, both I saw were fairly new and both could have done with dismantling and greasing up as it seemed to have been neglected at point of manufacture, no idea on spares but I was told they have a fairly good couple of years warrenty from new, what that's worth is anyones guess though, I do know BAT motorcycles at Biggin hill is a dealer for them so it might be worth giving them a call (01959 572313).

At the right price I'd guess ithe 125 would make a decent learner and it's something a bit different, not something I'd recommend, but I'd imagine it'll do the job but treat as you would any third world bike.

I had a hyosung 125, it was ok, build quality what you would expect really, the exhaust rotted away fairly rapidly and the cost of a replacement at the time was almost what I had paid for the bike. the engine was very vibey and the headlight was crap and the standard tires were poo. otherwise it did what I asked of it for a budget price.

i had and hyo XRX 125, was ok parts are not that cheap and not as readily available as other manufactures.

Im sure that BAT motorcycles dont trade anymore well at least as a shop i think they are trading as 77 motorcycles and by the looks of it, its now an ebay shop.

As for Hyo's i had the same as hindle an XRX125sm, it wasnt bad, never had any "major" problems with it, all the minor problems was just due to the shoddy build quality, but overall it was a bomb-proof bike, i wasnt exactly the most sedate rider and i never really treated the poor thing with respect just full throttle all the way and it still got me home safe every time, and it survived a head butt competition with a Vectra. :thumright:
