Which rear brake pads ?

I think I need to change my rear pads and have just done a bit of ringing round for price and availability.
My question to the masses is:

Do I go for EBC HH "or" EBC standard ones ?

One dealer said that the HH really need to be used a bit as they need to get warm/hot to work properly so he recomended standard ones for me.

Over to the masses for their overflowing cup of knowledge.

I had a similar thing on the GSXR
I went for sintered (don't know if thats how you spell it) brake bads on the front and rear
Apparently he said they will take a bit to warm up but when they do they will be great.
He was right they are great warm
Although first time in the morning going to the end of the road they are very spongy and next to useless
but you do get used to it

I personally go for standard on the rear, unles you are a fan of locking it up, normal pads will be fine. HH on the front and yes they do take a while to warm up, but are spot on when warm.

Phil, I think I am swaying towards standard on the rear. The price difference is negligable but if the HH are going to be an overkill on the rear then standards it is.

Thats what i'd go for mate. The other advantage is they don't wear the disks so fast, as the pad is not as harsh.

I got HH on the back and Im not liking it at all. I will go to organic when i change the front in a few weeks time.

I'm a very long way from being an expert, but I'd go for standard on the back and HH on the front. My thoughts being that you can't put too much braking load on the rear because of the weight transfer onto the front wheel. So putting grippy pads on the back will just mean you unstick the rubber more often.

Exactamundo - plus on cold mornings when you are dojkng a lot of filtering, the first few min you have zero rear brake as the pads havent warmed up, and I like to use the rear to stabalise the bike at low speed. I rarely use the front at all below about 20mph.
