Running Woes - Still

Just fitted some Iridium spark plugs, these are really good by the way, well worth the money, but shop around. I got 4 for £27 incl. postage.

I have checked the coil resistances, adjusted the Throttle Position Sensor
and balanced the Throttle Bodies but still I have hesitation between 2500rpm and about 3800 rpm. When on enginebraking you can hear popping and banging from the exhaust.

I have read a couple of articles that the Bandit 1250 is prone to this, it only started a couple of months ago but nowhere have a I read of how to cure it. When trying to keep at a conatnat throttle speed it can be a right pain in the backside.

Tim.

Dunno if it helps but I get pops during engine braking too and no midrange problems so they may be unrelated. I had just assumed the popping was a feature of the sv.. I like the sound :) if it's a bad thing tho, someone please let me know! (curvy, road legal aftermarket can)

Tim,

I know you have said you've checked the coil resistances. Have you checked the HT leads though. When these started to break down (admittedly on my curvey) I had similar issues to what you are describing. It would tick over and be fine when you were giving it the beans at higher revs, but there was a stutter / hesitation in the mid range..?
