Valve Clearences - new gasket required?

Hi

Sorry all I need to know in the next 20 mins so I thought I'd stick a post up then search...

For checking clearences only, do I need to replace any gaskets, or require any kind of sundries/tools apart from a normal socket set and hex set? (I have feeler gauges)

Will be searching in the meantime

TY

Found this http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...earance+gasket and this http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...+gasket&page=2

So will nip out to get some gasket sealant.

Any other tips would be handy :)

Welllllllll

That REALLY didnt go to plan.

Took fairings off
Drained coolant
Seat off, tank up
Airbox off
Started taking the hoses off for the rad and smelt/felt petrol spashing round near me

Looked up to see a fair gush of petrol leaking from the filler cap to the bottom edge of the tank, and running off....

Put tank down, and it stops. Tank up, after 2-3 mins it starts leaking again. It is (rather, was) a full tank.

So I had to stop and put it all back together as I intend on riding it tomorrow.

I'm guessing this will be the reason it stinks of fuel after being under the cover overnight, some of you may remember my other thread.

So how bad is it looking? I'm thinking some kind of seal/gasket has gone? Expensive/easy to replace?

Boohoo :(
