Working out spring rate?
 

I'm either doing something really wrong or racetech calc is way off. Probably the former.

I'm 8st 2lbs naked which converts to 51.7KG.

So I input this into racetech calc and it tells me my ideal spring weight should be 0.46kg/mm

Wtf?

Is there another way to work this out properly?

hahahahaaaaaaa. way off.

you are 114lb so racetech say .786 springs. remember to add weight to the bike figure as its not a race bike.

Not sure how I fluffed that one up. :o

0.786 is close enough to GSXR750 K2...

Problem is at the Race Tech end you'd be pleased to know.... :D

The Race Tech Software does an incorrect conversion for bike weight(from default unit), when you choose to imput rider weight in KG.

I weigh nats doodar more than you and use a `99 ish srad 750 shock. wouldnt use it 2 up but on my own way way better than standard shock.

That works well, but probably not for hongman as he's about 3ft tall with a 3 7/16ths" inside leg :-P

We were just discussing this via PM wrt to increased ride height (15mm) with the SRAD shock.

I was wondering though if that could become a non-issue though.

With the stock curvy shock on the softest preload my rider sag is about 3-5mm. If the SRAD shock/spring is softer, I could set my sag to 10-15 and cope?

I did mention the increase in height in pm, its very margingal, but for someone shorter in stature (very diplomatic there, like that?) then it could well be an issue.

Hongman, your only about 40 minutes or so ride from me, your welcome to pop up to colchester and see for yourself if the shock would suit, and the necessary work done to make it fit. ;)
