Okay to use chest protector again after a crash?
So about a month ago I had a pretty big off, all my gear was fine (apart from the helmet which will obviously need replacing) however it's only just occurred to me whether or not I'll be able to use the chest protector again? At one point I came down really hard on my chest, to the point where the subsequent bruising on my chest outlined the protector perfectly. The protector I use (this) is made from thick foam; I'm wondering if it'll be similar to helmets where once it's taken an impact it's time to replace it?

Re: Okay to use chest protector again after a crash?
If it were me and I had injuries highlighting the usefulness of my chest protector I would replace it...served a good purpose once but will it again?
They have compressible foam don't they? Which once compressed won't compress as well again (I think)... |

You're one of the few people I know who uses a chest protector.
If replacing I would go with the Forcefield version, they are rubbery-plastic rather than foam, so should habdle repeated knocks. |

I've heard about the Forcefield protectors, I'll have to check those out. |
