Chinese Body Armour on e-bay

If you type in motorcycle body armour in to e-bay, it's mostly this dirt cheap chinese armour that comes up.

Obviously first thing that goes through my mind is that this stuff will probably perform as well as butter in an off, but with money being tight at the moment I am inclined to ask...

What does everyone reckon on this stuff. I think I know the answers already but just checking and wondering if anyone else may have tried this stuff???

Wouldn't touch it mate. You've got to question any body armour that describes itself as "sexy"

Of course it's probably better than riding naked, but if I were in your shoes I'd save up and get some Knox or Forcefield stuff.

I must admit that I laughed when I saw it described as sexy.

Doesn't mention anything about it's protection, never mind CE (or equivalent) testing, so I would steer well clear.

I'm not even sure the term... 'anything is better than nothing' applies to this.

Depending on the material, shape of armour etc it could do more damage to you than wearing nothing.

that isn't really trackday type armour, it's modelled after off road stuff, basically fairly soft ABS plastic and padding, the idea is to distribute an impact from a sharp point to a wider area (still hurts mind, just stops you breaking stuff...hopefully), motocross jersey & pants don't have any protection at all so it's all worn underneath, as to the quality of the Chinese stuff :smt102, but a decent top like that would be £40-50 if it was branded and still wouldn't have CE approval on the chest oor back.

a good set of leathers will already have CE armour in the elbows/shoulders & thighs/knees & shins, add to that a decent back protector and you'll be fine.

Cheers Mark
