Good SV650 bike mechanic near Oxford?
 

Hi there,

I've recently moved to the OX12 post code and was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations for a good motorbike mechanic up here. I would usually go to spannerman down in London but the trek is just too long, specially when something needs sorting pronto...

Any recommendations would be greatly welcomed... if they did MOT's for bikes that would be super too as mine's coming up soon... would prefer someone who knew their way around SV650's so they could fix issues promptly...

I use Dave Clarke in central Oxford (small place on Denmark street just off Iffly road). Good for tyres and MOTs. I do all my own work on my bikes so can't recommend anyone for that sort of thing. DO NOT use Kings two wheel centre - they are useless!

I also use Harpers of Cowley when I order parts. Unfortunately most small dealers round here now are more interested in selling peds to young lads than sorting out real bikes.

has dave clarke ever said you needed new wheel bearings when you have had your bike MOT'd or new tyres?

Once needed a new new wheel bearing on my deauville, but that had 98k on it. I usually try and keep on top of that sort of thing. must have had 10 or so MOTs done there and thats all i've had to rectify for a pass.

I can recommend the guys at gp performance, berinsfield. They did my mot and if u take your bike down beforehand and ask grant to have a quick look over it might save you the hassle of doing the mot twice. While your there check out H Cafe next door, oxfordshires bike hangout.
