Went to watch Mr Speirs yesterday on his track day, didnt get many pics as he decided to polish his bike with the new surface at mallory ;)

It was soaking wet when i got there, but starting to dry out.

The first aftermath picture was me looking round in the hope that there were just yellow flags but to my dismay the marshall was waving a red.
I could've walked to the ambulance and even walked to the medical centre. Bit uneccassary in my opinion but apparently the crash looked spectactular enough to warrant a red flag.

Yup, first time on the wets. Had a great time. Really suprised at the amount of grip available. Was tipping into the left at Edwinas and banging it down to the right as quick as I could and didn't have one loss of grip.

The crash was nothing to do with lack of grip or tyre slipping at all. I just misjudged how quickly/slowly a fella was going and found myself ariving at his back wheel way faster than I had anticipated. I braked and stupidly used my rear brake too which locked the back up. Slid for a while at a 45 degree angle behind the guy until he finally tipped in. Once he had I left off the rear brake with an idea to go straight at edwinas but as I did the wheel gripped again and spat me off.

wets have silly amounts of grip. So easy to toast aswel.

Thats one of those things, u in the inters?

Oh and spent a couple of hours on the bike today.
Not too bad. Think I'm going to repair the top fairing, repair and repaint the bottom part.
Guna get a new set of crash bungs. New fairing bracket (bizarely they are quite expensive!!)
Specialone is sorting me out with a couple of new footrests and indicators.
Exhaust is dented but still okay and ill keep my eye out for another end can going cheap but not too worried for now.

Na novice. First time at Mallory and second time on that bike.
However in hindinsight with the advantage of the wets it probably wasn't too clever being in that group.

Fair enuf mate.

We looked using SuperSport Touring tires on a race bike as inters.
You should get along to a club meet with hard cash and car mate, buy all the 120 fronts and 180 rears at the meet (the SS600's and thous use a set a race and there is decent enough)

I'll be picking up scrubs as I go.

Picked up a decent pair of Metzeler Interacts from ebay the other day. Good price and plently left on them.

The GSXR came with racetecs and I was astounded by the level of grip they give.
