painting/spraying my grey rear hugger?
 
my sv has a hugger/chain guard in silver-grey ish color, but i want to spray in black to go with the rest of the bike, how do i go about this???

Grey Primer .
Black paint
Lacquer .

i use halfords spray paint ! come out nice every time , its £6.99 a can ( 500ml) or 300ml for £6.20

I would add to this that it really is all in the prep work. If you sand everything back with wet & dry, prime, wet & dry, paint, laquer. You can get some very nice results with rattle cans.

If the surface is not perfectly clean & smooth, or you try to put it all on in one coat, or you rush things, it'll look a bit rough, or maybe not last that well.

+1 on that.

Get to a breakers yard or get someone on here to send you a broken bit of bike panel and practice on this.

Alternatively SV_Rory is looking for respray work and may be flexible on .org discount.

i used a plastic primer, 3 coats, then sprayed it satin black x4.guy in the shop said not to lacquer it as if i dont want it shinny, if it goes tits up i can always do it again, its not 100% but i am pleased and it looks a lot nicer, one of the bolts stripped the thread from the thing welded to the frame, it come un-done really easy, guess that 12 years of abuse, still apart from that well happy.
