Motorail through France to Italy
Hi Guys,
When I first passed my test I bought my bike off a friend who had ridden out to Milan where he was staying. A baptism of fire later and I was back in the UK with my SV. The autoroute, although a million times better than the M6 was rather dull. This summer I'm looking at getting the train with my bike down as far as I can go and riding the 'Route Napolean' and maybe some of the riviera before heading back up to the ferrry with as little autoroute work as necessary. Was wondering if anybody has any experience with the motorail? Any tips? Suggestions? or money saving anecdotes? Joe :o |

It's always worth a search. I've not done it myself, but have priced it and it's bally expensive unless you can share your car bay with other bikers... |

The train? Sack it!:)
Buy a big Michelin map, stick it on your wall and look at all the amazing roads (unfortunately you cant see the amazing towns and villages and views too) that you miss sitting bored out your tits on a train. The Vosges and Jura Mountains, then head for Annecy. South of here every road is as good as the Route Napolean ... sometimes way better. Here is what you miss: http://www.alpineroads.com/ |
