Vango Banshee 200

2 man, weighs under 2kg, probably the smallest packing decent quality tent you can get your hands on for under £100

The Gelert reverse engineered, near identical but poo quality equivalent if you just want something cheap...

The Vango is recommended equipment for the Duke of Edinburgh stuff.

old version of this. weighs 4kg or so. Goes up in no time, can almost stand up in it, but roomy enough for all your gear and a double air bed.
Its ok buying a 2 man if theres only you....but if you happen to have the OH with you, its crap, which is why I got this.
If you roll it up properly it will go back in the bag, and it fits snuggly behind the tailpack on the grabrail.

Tesco 2 man dome tent, on ebay for £20-30.

Cheap, small size when packed, enough room for 1 + gear, easy to pitch (after the first time), didn't need guide ropes.
Tested over 2.5 weeks last month, pitching up every 2-3 days. Build quality isn't perfect, take some safety pins with you. It kept everything dry over 1 night of rain/thunderstorm.

+1 on the banshee except I've bought the 300 (3 man obviously), 2.4 kgs, a stand up tent is gonna be too big a pack for a bike imo.

I've also got another 3 man vango tent which I've used at last years AR and this years ARTNW for me and wifey, that weighs 4.5 kgs but pack size is slightly bigger as well.

Moral to my post, you won't go far wrong with a vango, btw craig, get yourself over to Coventry to go outdoors and they have quite a few on display.

+1 but only cost me £12 in the sale last year :p

Very fast, easy pitch, 2.6kg, small pack size.
Wouldn't recommend for taller than 1.78m (5'-10" ish) though.
Bit more head room than various Vango 2 man available.
Two would be rather too snug, but perfect for one+gear.
Very good ventilation (there's a top panel that can be taken off, or folded back) pockets for nick nacks, hook to hang a light.
Maybe not top quality, but no problems and water tight over 3 long weekends so far which included a couple of rainy nights.
