Throttle issue

Hi

I have a 99 sv650 that iv recently just got back on the road but it has fueling/throttle problems. On over run or rolling off the throttle, i get alot of popping and a few backfires. At a standstill the idle drops off or raises up to about 3k. The same is said when i turn the bars at a standstill...the engin speed changes. Turn bars to the right and it picks up, turn left an it drops off.

Has anyone experienced this problem on there own bike or know of a 'common problem' that causes this.

Thanks for reading and any info or help is appreciated. Thanks

Re: Throttle issue

Throttle cable needing adjustment/lubing
Air leak on the intake side, probably around the carb/airbox seating rubbers.
Choke plungers always benefit from attention on the carbs.
Generally a good service required after time spent off the road?

I've just had the engine revving when the bike is stationary and the bars turned lock to lock.

Turned out to be the choke cable snagging as the bars were turned.

The symptoms you describe sound like stuck choke plungers.

Take them out of the carb and give them a check.

There's lots of posts on choke plungers/cable problems, have a search.
