Bibio's AR11 route

The route i have planned for travelling down to the AR is outlined below.

the riding pace will be a moderately sedate one (however if the group decide that they want the pace a bit more spirited after the fist stop then say so) with a stop around every 30-40 miles.
if you want to go faster than the leader then by all means do so. faster riders can either pull over and wait at the next stop or just go it alone.
THE RUN IS NOT A RACE its a day out and i would rather people got to the AR in one piece.
individuals are responsible for making sure that their bike is in full working order if you breakdown on the day your on your own, we are not there to fix your bike.

if there are people wanting to join on route then please choose one of the stop points and put it beside your name could you also PM me and i'll give you my mobile number.

Complete Route:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...5,7,8,9,12&z=8

Fuel Stop has been decided that it will be M6 services just of Junction 36 128 miles from Moffat point E on the map below:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...5,7,8,9,12&z=8

Start: Moffat (High Street) leaving at 12:00 midday

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=55.333386,-3.444698&sll=55.333243,-3.444096&sspn=0.002386,0.006968&num=1&z=17

please fill your tank up in Moffat BEFORE we leave.
total miles of Journey will be around 153 miles if everyone can manage that in one go then there will be no stops for petrol so please tell me beside your name in the attendees list.

EDIT:
the only stop for petrol will be at junction 36 on the M6 services so please make sure that you brim your tank before we set off. those meeting us on route please make sure that you have enough petrol to get you to the above petrol station.

if you have to stop elsewhere for petrol, then your on your own to find a petrol station.
we should get to Dalesbridge between 5:00 and 6:00pm

Stop 1: Gretna = Moffat to Gretna 31 miles

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...1,2,3,4,5&z=10

Stop 2 (lunch): Hartside Top Cafe = Gretna to Hartside Top Cafe 40 miles

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...via=1,2,3&z=11

Stop 3: Kirkstone Pass Inn = Hartside Top Cafe to Kirkstone Pass Inn 33 miles

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...p=1&sz=17&z=10

Finnish: Dalesbridge = Kirkstone Pass Inn to Dalesbridge 48 miles

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...z=9&via=1&z=10

i know this seems a bit overkill planning just for 150 odd miles but if more than just me turn up then i would rather people knew what was happening than left in the dark.

Can we keep the chit chat to the other thread http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=162503 please people. Thanks Lance

For anyone interested I am going to try to avoid motorway en-route to the moffat meet.
Probably down via Biggar as thats a nice road. From mine its about 2 - 2.1/2 hrs so leaving here 9:15 - 30.
Anybody that wants to join me is welcome and i may even be persuaded to have a coffee and roll ready at mine before we leave.
Not that fussed about the specific route but THIS would be an option

i would be up for that. don't know about the rest of them but if we made your gaff the meeting/start point then we could by-pass Moffat completely and head straight for Gretna where we could fill up at the services and then meet up with the rest of them.

having a stop at Abington for a pee then hugging the old A74 all the way down to Gretna.

its only adding about 25 miles overall to my journey.

think the only one out the bunch that doesn't know where you stay is Terah but he could meet me at Dunfermline.

if we are not stopping at Moffat then we could leave yours at 10 and still be in Gretna for 12:30-1:00.

Hmm. Not so sure bout that. If the weather is not very clever I wouldn't be heading over to KG's Moffat is a better meet point IMHO. Happy to meet there whatever the weather is like. Besides, I am not sure that KG was anticipating that many people.

One other slight point, as some of you know i've badly sprained my wrist and have concerns about being able to make the AR. Made a decision this morning that if i'm still unable to ride i'll be taking the car. In this scenario i'm happy to take anybodys luggage to free up your respective bikes for the ride. Hopefully not but....

:smt006Hello peeps, please watch out for a custom Red Raptor 1000 and (I think) a trumpet(if the Raptor 650 was sold).

Crap Tartan and his wife are coming down from over the border, look after them if you find them:thumright:

If you didn't mind James that would be appreciated. I can't guarentee I will be home at 8 so I would be hoping for at least 4 hours kip. You know that if I went on y own without a sat nav I'd get lost....

Makes no odds to me dude - if truth be told it'd mean I could maybe get some work done in the morning in that case, so it's all good.

You'll have to pass by here en route anyway, so you can just give me a yell when you're at Dumfer's and we can head down from there?
