Fitting a Scottoiler? Pointy.

Hey All !

I've searched the forums and had some good advice, I've been in touch with Scottoiler to no avail and I have a question but first I'll explain where I am up to. I've fitted everything for the Scottoiler and I've primed it and oil is flowing, it's at the other end where the problem is. In all of the info I've read it states to connect the "L" shaped connection to the vacuum point on the rear V. I've even seen pictures of them in place and believe that it's a bit of a sod to connect but I'll have a go. On my SV there are two nipples and here is where my question comes in. Which one do I connect to ? Or am I missing seeing something obvious ?

Any help is very much appreciated as I don't want to screw up anything as this is my first fuel injected bike. Oh, it's an SV650 K5 naked btw.

Thanx.

Hello.

Should be able to help with this one. Recently did my K4 and you can use either of the two nipples underneath the throttle bodies. Just remove a rubber bung and pop the L connector on there.

Soak in boiling water for a little bit maybe to heat it up and make it more plyable.

@ The Actor - When you do it, any chance I could have the rubber bung when you take it off?

Thanx for that. I'll get on with it soon.

Yeah, sure. PM me your details and I'll get it to you once I've taken it off. I'm guessing that your location isn't far from me.

Alternatively a bit of tube with a bolt stuck in the end does the same job. Probably cheaper than the petrol too

Scottoiler is now fitted and barely visible except for a couple of drips on the tyre. :)
