Recommend a more Casual Leather Jacket

Evening,

Long Story Short, as the Title says im looking for a more Casual Leather Jacket.

To have more of a relaxed/casual fit and be practical to wear off the bike but still offer good protection on the bike!

I've got a 2 piece suit for normal riding but im thinking more for 5/10min trips to the shops/pub etc, since the jacket i have is too bulky to wear for any length of time if im not riding, not to mention heavy etc.

Any ideas/opinions appreciated

Probably look at getting a pair of draggin jeans or the like but that can wait for now!

Cheers

I was given a present from spain type jacket. Looks the business.

I have taken the armour out of it and now use it as a casual jacket. I was never happy that it would survive an off. I owe the fact that I have a slightly dodgy shoulder to decent armour and a jacket that held it all in place when it mattered. I have two mates who have both lost their left arm at the shoulder through offs and I think a decent jacket is the reason why I have not joined their club.

I know what you guys are saying, and i do agree.
But i dont really see any other option, i gave up my Car to be able to afford to be on 2 wheels so this is the only form of transport i own.
And spending everyday out in a beer garden/cafe/shops etc wearing full lethers just isnt practical, especially in this heat.

Its not for the sake of fashion, dont misenterpret what i meant, and thats kind of what im asking, obviously i want to get the best protection i can, but in something thats a bit more lightweight and more "wearable" in day to day life off the bike, so where/what brands would be the best to look at.

Its easy to look through a shop/catalogue or whatever and see something that looks like its up to the job, but im more after some "tried and tested" kind of experience with brands/jackets ect

Thanks for the replies though

I got a Held Aras jacket because I was looking at something sounding very much like you're after.

Awesome protection, and looks fantastic on or off the bike:

OK well a couple of options for you to consider, either the mesh jackets, such as THIS, iI don't own one but a friend has one and loves it, seems well made.

or I have a Knox underjacket, lycra with full armour, this means I can wear a lighter outer jacket or denim one over it, they no longer do the one I have, but something close is this.

Once again kevlar jeans are great I have a couple of pairs myself, but they are a compromise as far as protection goes, as long as you bear that in mind, there's no problem, I'd recommend these,as good as draggins and available in black/blue or camo and at about half the price to, Oh and yes I've bought them and seen the construction.

HTH

Cheers Mark.

How is that held one for length.

I occasionally wear dragging jeans and would like to wear leather jacket with it, but the 2 piece jacket I have is too short on its own.

It's perfect. It's designed to be worn on and off the bike, so it goes well with a pair of jeans - covers down to below the belt-line easily. If I'm nipping out and it's a bit chilly, I normally just take out the back protector and wear the jacket - you'd never guess it was a proper, armoured bike-jacket unless you knew the brand.

Theres a few options to take a look at and consider there! I'd never thought of seperate armour as an underlayer, how do you find wearing it? Is it comfortable/cool enough to keep on when not on the bike?

Im probabaly leaning more towards a leather jacket, mainly because they seem to offer the best protection, but after you mentioned that mesh jacket rictus i've seen a few alpinestars ones that are similar yet still with elbow/shoulder pads, im guessing theyr alot lighter than leather too! and waterproof! they're all fairly cheap too, not sure if thats a good or bad thing lol.

And thanks for the heads up on those Jeans, they look like a pretty good buy! Not sure about the seams/stiching on the front though! haha
