Baffle in or out?
My girlfriend suprised me the other day by getting me a Arrow exhaust can for the GSR and yesterday I managed to remove the baffle so it now sounds very loud :)
BTW - the baffle in the Arrow can is around 6" long compared wit the beowulf one I had for the bandit which was tiny. Are there any negative effects for an engine running an exhaust without a baffle in? I have heard that it will reduce the amount of backpressure which could have an effect on low down power howver the GSR has an exhaust valve which increases backpressure at low RPM..... |
Re: Baffle in or out?
I took the baffle out of my Scorpion. No change in anything other than noise. I'm keeping it out for the summer and I'll put it back in in the winter, so as not to annoy the neighbours too much. I don't think it makes any other difference, I've not even noticed any fuel economy or power change.

I bought my SV thou couple weeks ago with Harpoon exhausts, no baffles, passed MOT, sounds loud, no effect to engine or power delivery. pop crackles and burbles nicely at certain speeds in certain gears off throttle which is lovely though :) |
Re: Baffle in or out?
Y'put your baffle in, your baffle out, in out in out shake it all about!
Nah - you won't find any change. Some people claim that taking a baffle out will strengthen the midrange but I'd struggle to feel any difference. Enjoy your bleeding ears, that's all I'll say! ;) |
