Changed since the old paddle steamers when I was a lad:D
Unfortunately we only used the freight ferries --not the luxury class

I've used the Brittany Ferries fastcraft Portsmouth/Caen or Cherbourg, I assume they're more or less the same thing. Nice when the going is reasonably calm, a bit lumpy if the swell gets up, well worth it for the faster crossing. Much better prices on LD than Brittany.

I only use the sea cats when going to the continent....much better crossing.

Did the chunnel at Christmas in the snow....not good had to wait for about an hour in the holding carpark....sub zero temps.

I didn't use the Le Harve route but I have used the brittany ferries one to Caen/Ouistreham. I am assuming that they are similar as they look very much alike. Nice to be able to cruise along but it was the first time I got seasick in a long time. The usually have a deck at the back that you can sit out and look at the horizon to calm things down, and that did help me.

She's the new bit on the side and I changed it because I'm in love.

Not that I can recall, but I wasn't particularly looking for that. You could get food and sit and have a good read. It was more like a huge airplane that you could walk around in and had a bar/restaurant bit in the middle. Not much else I'm afraid.

I've used one of those from Dover to Boulogne-Sur-Mer twice. Was cool, just more bumpy than a cruiseliner. On the way there is was stormy and we were really rocking, I got quite scared and scenes from Titanic started rushing through my head
