They are losing 300 million in funding and 6000 jobs i believe it just said on the news in the north west, christmas for criminals :rolleyes:

If it was not the police it would be some one else, what would you prefer, health, teachers, military?

There is no good choice here but one has to be chosen.

I agree cuts need to be made, however we need to remember that the welfare bill in the UK is slightly larger than all income tax received from workers.

Maybe when the NHS makes cuts it should focus on the actual quality of care and availability of drugs rather than spending billions on new buildings and then laying staff off and cutting down on drugs budgets

With regards to police cuts its a false economy, less police equals more crime. Maybe if we stopped buying prisoners playstations and televisions........

I could rant for hours about this but I am not going to.....

The country is run by idiots, we need more police, who concentrate on more dangerous/serious crime.

Actually mate most are choosing themselves, and it's all the more experienced officers who can take overdue, or early, retirement, leaving behind a wealth of inexperienced (but cheaper) officers to look after the public. Strangely enough most of my colleagues who are retiring are also choosing to do so abroad....now I wonder if there is any connection:)
