So who gets the V-Twin Tingle?

I am talking about the numbness in the thumb and index finger (or more digits if you're unfortunate) from the good vibrations :riding: YC tells me he still gets it in his thumb and it's just one of those things you learn to ignore... ?

I used to get it all the time. I still get it riding my YZF. Just one of those things I have to deal with.

It will be more noticeable to you at first Maria. A lot of new things to be getting used to, and this is one of them. However, you have sensitive circulation in your hands so the vibes could be more exaggerated.

What bar ends have you got......much as YC may say a bit of bling on the end isn't helpful, my massive weights really help(and they are shiny) I get very very little vibration on the SV.
Another thing that you need to take a look at, is if all the levers are in your natural geometrical line. Has he set them up for you properly, or has he just put em back on and said that'll do? I know they don't count towards the vibes, but they put strain on your hands, arms and shoulders if it isn't all aligned properly.

Mines an "s". Top gear, trundling along on m/ways about 60mph+, together with the wristy riding position and I get a dose of the bad vibes in my throttle hand. Even with fat heated grips.

I only notice it when I stop. You'll end up riding around it/ get used to it/ pick funner roads:cool:

I get a 'tingle' after riding a while, think it's more due to my age than the bike though - 'tingle' usually seems to be followed by a nice warm feeling in my leathers :-(

Nope, speed isn't the issue!

Aye could be worth looking into. I haven't got chunky hot grips yet and I was used to them on the YBR so they may make some difference. I have small hands too which must count for something!

I notice it while I'm on the go. We did an 80 mile round trip yesterday, we stopped twice in the the first 40 miles (filling up, errand) so I hadn't noticed it. Then on the way back I had to stop after a while on the motorway and a few twisties (needed to change visor anyway) but then I had it again about 20 miles later. It's annoying enough to make me feel I have to stop which is saying something as I'm usually one of the stubborn ones who rides in the freezing cold and won't stop unless the fingers have dropped off :eye:

If you ride the SV often enough, your body will eventually adapt to it. As your confidence increases, the grip on the bars will loosen at the same time as your body becomes more relaxed. The same applies to a certain extent to the rather uncomfortable seat.

I love to stop frequently, even if it's just for a couple of minutes to clean my visor.

The only numbness I've had was when I did a full day on the bike & found I was leaning very heavily on the grips making the palm part of my thumb numb.
My wife says every time she rides pillion she feels it but not in her hands.:riding:
