spelling lessons ;)
my agv is carp - noisy and ill fitting visor but for the price it keeps my head safe i suppose. Try some of the cheaper Shark range - they not too bad.. |
Re: What you reckomend ???
I bought a HJC IS-16 yesterday.
I always bought Shark S800s previously. This time I required one with an internal visor, and couldn't find a place with Xsmall in stock. So was persuaded to buy a HJC that fit the bill. In comparison, much to some folks experiences of HJCs, I found they are no louder(or quieter) than the Sharks. I have an exceptionally loud pair of pipes so it has to fair well. A little strange noise when higher up the speed, but no difference to the Shark. Turbulance was great, no buffetting about, which some lids do. They are very similar in design, and in fitment. The vents on the top are a little faffy to find, the sun visor mechanism is very well made and easy to find when in gloves. In comparison to the Shark there are two stages it comes down your face. On the shark the internal visor hits your nose as soon as activated. Double D ring, as opposed to quick release, my Shark one was temperamental and I found it had come undone whilst on the move. The internals fit very comfortably, and accomodate a smaller face superb. I have trouble finding lids to fit. I vary between small and xtra small, and although fit on the head don't on the face. I swear there is a little more 'vision' through the HJC, but nothing compares to the Shark quick release visor mechanism, not sure how this one works as far as quick release is concerned. Its ever so slightly lighter than the Shark. I was a bit put off by the Shark v HJC sharp test. Shark rate highly, HJC poor. BUT IMO, once yer head bounces on the floor, as long as its still there, the lid did its job. Don't buy a lid off the net, go try before you buy, as they are all different. AGVs i didn't get on with, they don't play very well with a pair of spectacles!!! So far, so good, for the HJC. I bought the 'drafer' design, supposed to be a new one I think. |
Re: What you reckomend ???
I find almost more than any other make AGV seem to do a *very* wide range and the "shell's" are substantially different. I don't get on with their cheaper stuff but love the top-end stuff. Just trying to justify 'upgrading' the Ti-Tech for a GP-Tech now. ;-)

According to J&S this is their biggest seller and I just happen to be selling £40 under the RRP. Forever a salesman!! |
Re: What you reckomend ???
very good price considering it even tho its plain. I don't know if its the same for any of you but i kind of have trust in arai as that is what i was wearing when i had my last accident back in may.
