I dont believe it !!

A lady friend of mine has pointed this up from another site :

My Missus reckons the SV650's rear seat is the worst she's ever ridden, she slides everywhere all over it when I accelerate or brake. She think its cos its a stepped seat, all my other bikes were straight bench type seats with one level.
Opinions guys?

.. I reckon its more to do with how the guy is rdidng than the seat, but only just having got my SV curvy, and not taken anyone on the back yet, I thought I would canvas opinions from you guys in an attempt to get her on the back !
So, whats your (or your other half's) opinion of the SV pilly seat ? OK ior the worst ever ...?

Maria has done a good few thousand miles on the back of my bike and while it was improved by adding some rubber matting for more grip I don't think it was #that# bad before.

Put a triboseat cover on mine for my good lady, stops her slipping about but the seat still gives her a square a$$e after 100 miles or so. Guess in time will need to invest in a gel sest. :)

We just used that non slip toolbox matting that's like £3 and a staple gun.

As a side to all this.

YC is the seat any better carrying shizz with the matting?

Suppose it would, I generally add ratchet straps until the foam is nearly flat anyway though!

Pillion comfort opinions are the same as rider comfort opinions. As in it's such a personal thing that other people's thoughts can perhaps be a guide, but the bottom line, (ha! - see what I did there?), will only be what you think. That said there are some generally accepted trends, some bikes are commonly considered good and some not. But there'll always be someone who likes/dislikes a given bike's comfort.

Knowing this I'm still regularly surprised by what people find comfortable/uncomfortable. It's a very, very personal thing.

This is the way to go, put a back box which accepts two helmets. You'd be killing two birds with one stone...
