Track Day on a Restricted License

So had a quick search on here and most the forums discussing this are a bit wishy washy, talking about other aspects and issues etc...

Anyhoo... I would like to do a track day this summer sometime before I have to head off to Uni, however I'm on a restricted license. I wanted to do a novice only track day organised by Focused Events (either at Mallory or Blyton park(which if you're interested is an awesome novice track day by the look of it with super sport hire included for £200)) so I'd sent them an email inquiring about doing so and what they'd thought of my license.
Basically they said that they wouldn't accept my license to go on any of their tracks and that I'd need an ACU license - which would be a bit of an overkill for one track day a year.

I know that as well as some organisers not appreciating the restriction, some tracks such as Oulton have a problem with it too. Basically I'm asking for a little help or guidance as to where I could possibly go, I live in the Midlands but obviously am happy to head out to tracks elsewhere as long as I don't end up getting to the track too worn out and beaten up :)

Thanks

Dan

Can't you just swap the ECU once you get to the track?

Do you need a license to do a track day?

Its not always based on the track, but with the company that you book through.
I did a TD and castle combe whilst on restriction. Try booking there. Cant remember the name of the company I booked with though.

And Tommy, I asked that question and was told that it didnt matter whether the bike was full power or not, it was down to what it said on my license.

You need a full road or acu license. If you dont want to do your road test yet you can get acu license at a couple of 'courses/track training schools'. Club msv and mick boddice at darley moor do them and confirm your riding is to a good enough standard. A bit of training will help you big time if you are new to track also.

Nice work squire, I'm currently considering mallory with no limits in late september. Going to really struggle for time, but sorely tempted and reckon I'll end up going.
It's a course you'd be allowed on and it was my first ever trackday and found it great (despite being wet), nice easy one to learn and get into the swing of things.

Thank-you good sir, I apologise for the incredibly delayed reply to you guys!
I may be inclined to join you on said track-day if I possibly can, Mallory isn't too far :)

On a side note, what to people think of riding for say an hour before a track-day? (to the track). Would I still have the energy to put down good useful tracktime and enjoy it?
