Turning an unfaired bike into a faired bike
I'm looking to buy an SV650 K6 within the next month. I prefer the faired version, but there are not that many in my price range on the market. I was wondering if I would be able to buy an unfaired version and buy some aftermarket sprayed fairings for about £300? Sounds like a really stupid question, and it probably is! But I want to be 100% sure before I go out and spend over 2 grand.
Could I turn this bike (minus the belly pan)... http://images.clickedit.co.uk/1823/car_id_2825_1.jpg Into this bike with just fairings (and a tail tidy)? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3052/...27068989e4.jpg |

Yes.
You are look in at buying an SV650 SK6, twin headlights as opposed to the true naked SV650 K6. Then you can just bolt on, the correct colour coded, Ermax lower fairing kit (supplied with all bracketry for about the £300 mark). Suzuki only supplied the lower fairings as standard on the Sport version at about 2008-9 , so all you have seen for sale older than this will have had lower fairings fitted later. Single seat cowel just clips on in place of the pilion seat to complete the transformation but is extra cost. Tail tidy pulls the rear indicators and numberplate back under the brake lights. |
