Working with numpties

I know some of you are bossmen (and women) Im not a "boss" but I do have delegates and doesnt it just drive you mental when you give them a task you deem simple but then have to walk them through it. Made even more frustrating that they've done that task in the past and even more so that they've been doing it more recently than you have.
But thats not the best bit, oh no its even more enfuriating when they hand over the work as "complete" and its just a load of tosh.

Brought to you by Matt, the bloke who's just spent and hour and half picking through the turd of drawings handed to him by someone who supposedly helped do a quick half hour job for him yesterday.

Well, I use the lessons of :-

I ask you once, I ask you twice and then I remember at your appraisal.

I will gladly show/talk through etc. to someone. I will even do it a second time. But there after why should I do their job.

Matt, heres one for you to brighten your day perhaps.

Take a group of people and tell them they are cleaning the factory. You aren't speaking in gobbledeegook, you are speaking in a very clear manner. Now you may start laughing here, as we all know nobody likes cleaning, but when you have to get a brush, and physically show the group to illustrate the task you wish someone to complete.......because they don't understand a word you are saying............

Sounds about right.

Does sound very much like one of my ex bosses, and his legendary 30 minute talks on how to clean a table.
Or my personal favorite how to clean a bar top down, never ever noticed that you pull most the shelves off and still have all the glasses stuck to it!
I avoided them all as a worked out the look that made him scarper.

Dizzy - wait 'til your offspring are older and you ask them to 'tidy their room' or 'clean the kitchen'.

The look of horror/surprise/incomprehension will have you stumped!

No seriously, they couldn't understand English, ten of them all standing in a group with an extremely vacant look on their faces.

It's OK though, once they hit their 20's they seem to improve slightly

Matt, that's why I do most stuff myself, if I hire a 'trade' and their work is worse than I can do it myself I think I should've just done it myself to start with.

Sometimes I think it's me not explaining stuff too well, it seems like a really simple thing yet some people just don't get it.
