Any suitable Rectifier / Regulator required

So, I passed my test yesterday.

The bike died on the M25 40 miles from home.

The dials and LCD Display kept cutting out. Bike has to be bumped as battery wasn't charged by 80 miles of motorway riding and the lights are super dim.

Rectifier needs replacing?

Can I fit any rectifier from any bike or does it need to be a specific one?

well in theory you can fit any if you modify the wiring, what bike is it? reg?
alot of people mod the wiring and use a honda cbr reg/rec.

I got a GS500 r/r from ebay for a tenner just to keep it going while I looked for a more reliable one.

I thought this would be ok?

My bike is a K1 Curvy 650
